Hormonal Effect After Menopause
In recent experiments, researchers have discovered that the drop in estrogen during menopause may contribute to excess weight around the waist by increasing appetite. Tthis research seems to support a link then between estrogen and obesity, but not just any kind of obesity as experts say. That waist weight appears to be a higher risk for diabetes, heart disease, and many other significant health problems. Experts advised women to take up strength training. It helps maintain muscle mass which also drops during menopause and reduces metabolic rate.
