Menopause help can only be given if you take action and actually seek it. Acceptance And Realization

The onset of menopause usually occurs between the age of 35-58. It’s when it begins at an earlier age that many women seem to have a hard time accepting the fact that it has “arrived.” If symptoms occur during the late 30′s and early 40′s then acceptance is difficult. Feelings of being old and “past it” can accompany a women’s thoughts but this is where women need to understand that because her body is experiencing change, it doesn’t mean she has joined the “aged” race. Far from it. In today’s world, a women has so many more options for help than her mother and grand mother had and that’s why it’s important to sit down with your medical physician and discuss them.

Relieving symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats will be on the menopause help agenda. Your doctor will outline several suggestions and offer guidelines. Concern over osteoporosis is very real and decreasing the risk of it should be high on your agenda. Ask about Hormone Replacement Treatment and whether it applies to you or if there are alternatives.

Lifestyle Changes

Meeting menopause head on will usually see a women get past this often difficult stage of her life with minimal disruption. While medical help is available don’t ignore the possibility that implementing several lifestyle changes will compliment any help suggested by your doctor. Exercise is one area to consider particularly if it’s lacking while an overhaul of your nutritional intake could be necessary, particularly in the area of diet. The “old chestnuts” such as alcohol and smoking if present, may need eliminating from your daily routine.

Accepting menopause as a part of your life and seeking help will only assist you in working through this natural stage of life’s evolution. Trying to sweep it “under the carpet” and ignoring it will not.
